Applying Styles
Fireworks comes with a number of predifined styles that you can apply to objects
to create special effects. A style is just a preset of different effects. You
can also create your own styles in Fireworks and save them for later use.
- Make sure the back icon you've just created is selected.
- Expand the Assets panel if it is not already
visible. Choose the Styles tab.
- Click on Style 6.
Look in the Properties Inspector and you will
notice that a fill colour has been chosen and that 3 Live
Effects have been applied.

Your button should now look something like the one above.
We are now going to create a copy of this button to use for the Next button.
- Make sure the button icon is selected. Choose Edit
> Copy, Edit > Paste.
- Use the arrow keys to move the copy of the button icon over to the correct
position over the right button.
- Double-click within the copied button icon to highlight the text

- Type the number 8.
You should now have a Next button icon.

- Make sure your button icons are positioned where you want them. Name them
L Button Icon, R Button
Icon.
- Select the L Button Icon and
the R Button Icon. Group them and name
the group Button Icons.
Your GIZMO is now complete:
The next steps are to add some interactivity to the GIZMO.
