Naming your Slices

When you export your image to HTML Fireworks exports each slice as a different image. Hence, allowing you to set different optimisation settings for each slice.

To make identifying the exporting images easier you can give a name to each slice and use the slice names as file names when you export the image.

1. To name a slice select it with the Pointer tool. And type a name for it in the Properties Inspector. e.g:
   
   
2. Name the slices in your image as follows. Do NOT use spaces in the names. Also each name should be unique.
   
   1) top
   2) left_panel
   3) menu_button
   4) menu_bar
   5) right_panel
   6) top_screen_border
   7) screen
   8) bottom_screen_border
   9) back_button
   10) next_button
   11) bottom
